Barbies in Pershyttan

In the beginning of this week we took a little trip to a small mining town called Pershyttan. It is just 3 km from where we live. This place has been restored and kept as a working museum of the mining and iron handling in our area, which started in the early 14th century.

It is a beautiful area with possibilities to have a picnic, walk in the forest, enjoy the nature or, if the museum is open, visit it. There is some old train wagons made to a café, so you can enjoy a cup if you did not bring your own. Pershyttan is one of Sweden’s best preserved charcoal-fueled blast furnaces from 1856 and this place has one of the biggest working water wheels.

We stayed for a short while in the upper parts of Pershyttan and I took some photos of my two Barbies, while the rest of the family enjoyed the surroundings. And we kept our distance to the other families enjoying their time.

Enjoy.

  1. That place looks very pretty and interesting, almost like if you took it straight up from a tale. Your photos turned out great. I like the one with BMR 1959 in front of the shed, and also the last one.
I'm glad you found some time to take a break from your studies and take some dolly pics. Hope your course is going well.

    Hugs.

    1. It is a very interesting place and there are several in the area, that I hope I can visit later on when it is okay to travel a bit further from home. It felt nice to be outdoors for a while and let my brain rest from studies. It is going well so far, have finished my essay and the next task is just a short comment on someone's essay
Thank you! Glad you liked the photos! :)
      Hugs!

  2. Oh such beautiful surrounds, I can see why you wanted to go there. And the two girls look like they enjoyed the scenery and the sunshine too! I think it's great you were able to get out and visit somewhere with your family.

    1. Thank you, it is a nice place to go to, near and you can even walk there. Have done that several times. The mix of mining town and pretty dolls felt like a good thing to test. And it is always lovely to be outdoors, even if it is for a short while!

  3. Thank you! It was a lovely short trip to do in the middle of the studies I have and everything starting to get slowly back to ordinary days after the summer vacation. Still some restrictions with the covid-19, so this felt like a good thing to do. And it was nice to take some photos and post again after some weeks of silence.
    Hugs!

  5. I'm so envious, we cannot go anywhere outside of a 5k radius at present and this place looks divine to me. You have taken some absolutely brilliant photos Niina, your girls look like they belong in those surrounds, I think your photography skills are really shining through! :)
    Big hugs,

    1. Our radius is a bit more than 5k, if I am not mistaken it is around 120k. That is a lot, really.
The place is beautiful, there is even a lake not so far from it.
Thank you, I had the light with me that day - sunny and blue sky. It is easy to find the light on those days. I am glad you liked the photos!
      Big hugs! :)
