Of topic and a new dress…

Some days ago I was sitting in the kitchen and talked to our kids about their own thoughts for the coming summer, the last essays to be done and the future. Now they are watching the One Love Manchester on TV - a concert in tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing. It is to honor the lost, injured and affected. I think that it was cowardly done to attack our future like that. The youngster have not done a thing. But as a journalist wrote here - it is easier to build up buildings than a generation. The thing that scares me most, is that our girls could have been there on 22nd May. They have seen Ariana Grande before and have been even abroad to see their stars. It really hurst to see innocent people to become victims like this. We never know when, why or what - it is the new way to be in war. We are vulnerable, but we need to stay strong. Never let fear take over.

I know that this was of topic, but I had to share some thoughts.

On the evening when I sat in the kitchen, talking with the girls, I made a dress to Polly. The upper part is crocheted and the skirt I sew on, added some decorations and then the first try (too big) became a bow, that she has on her head. The pants she had, I have returned to the kids collection and the long sleeved t-shirt will be something new later on.

Here are some photos. Hope that you are well. Happy June.

    1. Thank you, she really looks good in green - and that brighter one.

It really was awful, I had to ask the girls if someone they know was there, but all their friends was safe too. I get so worried....

  2. It is sad that those horrible things are there, so close, and knowing some people from all over the world doesn't make reading news any easier. Always worrying about them. =__=

I love the outfit on Polly, the green suits her so well. :)

    1. Yes, one sure worries. There have been so many horrible attacks lately, so I do not feel so safe. It really takes over, even if it should not - the fear.

Thank you, I like this dress on her. So girly and cute. :)

  3. It's a shame we live in a society where the innocent are always the target of war. I saw the news on our channels here. It was such a horrific thing to have happened.

I love Polly's new dress, such lovely detailing work.

  4. It was truly a tragedy. No matter what, kids shouldn't be the target. I hope the families that lost, will find a way to deal with their terrible grief and find peace.

Polly is super cute, though! The dress is so nice :D Good job!

    1. I agree with you and hope so too - the tribute concert gave some economical support, but that is just a drop. Finding peace and dealing with grief are hard.

Thanks, it was fun to make it. :)
