A last trip

One of the roads near our cottage.
I am sitting here in our living room and thinking about the trip we took to south Sweden, where we have our relatives and our cottage, during the Epiphany (Little Christmas) weekend. We usually do not take any trips during this season, because of the weather. It can be a bit moody in these times. It can be dry, sunny and almost feel like the Spring has arrived. Then it can be rainy, foggy and feel like late Autumn. And before you know it, you are in a snow storm, trying to see the road.

Our cottage and car.
With a control of the weather and several forecasts, we packed our car and drove the 6 hours to mother in law. The nurses had phoned us several times, telling us that she is not doing well. My anxiety kicked in and we did not know what to expect. When we arrived, she was in her bed - happy, talking and looked like a sun, shiny and warm, we she saw us. She said: "Oh, there you are! You came!" The nurse who was there at that point told that mother in law has been happy and waiting for us to come.

Our church - The girls are baptized and hubby + I got married here.
One of my toy cars.
We stayed at her place for four days and she perked up during those day. We had many good moments with talks, hugs, laughs and memories. But we had even some worries. She had some respiratory arrest during the day and it felt strange to have a nurse there by her side, all day and all night - even if this is a very good thing. Even I and the rest of the family sat next to mother in law from time to time.

And I am glad that we took this trip, because it was the last time we saw her. Today, on the 14th January, early morning, she passed away. May she rest in peace. I will miss her dearly.

I had one of my Pureneemo's along, Kielo (bought from Lise at Daggry Saga). I took some photos of her at the cottage and made a little comic. The Merida doll and Kielo's clothes are a gift from Alasse at The Wayward Inn

I wish you the best for the new week ahead.

Meow!

Hellou and hope that you are doing well! We are doing just fine and this summer has really gone by fast. We are in the beginning of our countdown for a trip back home, to reality, school, work, autumn...but still some weeks to go that we can enjoy.

Had some plans to post about my newest addition, but life got in the way. My mother in law and her sister ended up in the hospital, on the same day, with just hours apart. What is the odds for this to happen? And it got crazier. Both had pneumonia! Both got penicillin and are home now, doing much much better. What a relief!! The day after, on the 18th July, we celebrated my mother in law's birthday. She is 98 year now. Amazing.

Suvi on a trip

I am ready, let's go! Made a simple dress the evening before and
the shawl I crocheted in the car, on our way. It is twisted and can be used
in two different ways.
Hellou from the south Öland. Some old houses in the background.
On a sunny day, we - the whole family, took a road trip to the city Kalmar and the island of Öland. I took Suvi along and thought that it would be fun. And it was.

Welcome Suvi

Hellou, I am new here! Suvi is my name!
(Like a crazy stalker) I did a good job following the package from Germany, to Sweden through small towns and to my own door. The postman rang ones and I opened the door fast. I could see on his face that here is someone who really wants her package. He wished me much joy and a happy day.

Opening the package. Very important and very cute.
Top of the box, her extra hands and shoes, hair clip and finally out of the box.

On light feet I walked up stairs and found the smallest scissors (where are my other scissors?) to open the package. She was finally home and what a cutie.

Blue, sweet, tiny and totally different that I thought her body would be. I am amazed by the body, it is as we say ”robust”. You could say solid - in a very good way. Her joints and extra hands work fine and there is nothing to complain about.

More than one thing. She is darn cute and I am hooked. There where a time, when I said that I will just have one doll (Esther), but that did not end well. Then came Monster High, Ever After High, Barbie and now an Azone PureNeemo. So, she needs a friend. Husband said that she will get a friend or even friends, but please, stay put for some days at least. Of course, I said, and some seconds later I showed him some more PureNeemo’s. He could not stop laughing.

This is a nice place. Fun to be here!
This Sahra’s a la Mode - Twinkle a la Mode - Aquamarine Alisa is something he picked up as his favorite when I showed him some dolls from Azone International, for a long time ago. He said that all were cute and nice looking, but this was his favorite. Yay, and mine. The theme for this series is the sparkle of gems and stars, as said on the details for this doll. Shining moon, twinkling stars, pure aquamarine and calm as the sea.

Sunshine on her mind!
When I tested her other hands I suddenly missed one of the cuffs and thought that it would be just typical to lose one of these tiny parts. I looked in the bed, where I sat, under the bed, among the package…it was nowhere….until I saw something blue sticking out under her arm, high up in her armpit. ”Oh, you!” was what I said. Mischievous one, no calm as the sea here. Haha!

Suvi and her fishy friend McLovin.

Shall I play something?
She will fit right in here. And her name? Suvi Manner. Suvi is summer and Manner is mainland, in Finnish.
