Polly's new you

I know that I said that I will not do this, but I did it anyway. Gave Polly a new face and a new hair.

Did it the usual way - making wefts, gluing, waiting and gluing again. I watched several videos, like this one, for an example. I did not have a hair straightener, but I used a thin towel, put the hair in between and pressed with an iron (medium hot) as I slowly pulled the yarn between the towel. The same result. It is so soft and you can style it just with your fingers, but… This red wig is really red and at times it is hard to take photos, because it reflects and does crazy things in different lights. It has been darker outdoors too, with the heavy rain, thunderstorms and cloudy weather. And hubby's smart phone, that he has at work, is so much better handling all these stuff than my older phone.

She still has her cute dress and she will keep it, but I made her a hat out of paper. The bow she had, just did not work anymore. Her face is really tiny, so it was a bit difficult to keep my hands steady and then I had trouble keeping the pens sharp enough. But I am rather pleased with the results, though.

She is a tiny little cutie. Here comes some photos.

"So much fluffy hair, love it!"

Chilling a bit.

"Hey, what is in my hair?"

"You listen now! I am a Princess, with a capital P!"

Wish you all a lovely week
and
an even lovelier weekend ahead!

Those tiny dolls?

Polly on adventure, summer 2017.
It is late evening over here and the rain is making some drip-drop sounds on the window. I visited some doll shops and noticed new arrivals. One of these new arrival is a Bebe-Doll, just 14,5 cm (5.7") and I fell totally.

Such a cute and delicate face, with so so adorable details in hands, feet and body. It comes even in two other, ready to go, full package. And limited editions, of course. I'm glad that there is one ordinary, without limits, to buy. I have her on my wishlist now.

And of course I started to wonder about good things and not so good things with those tiny ones. The pros, that I can see after playing with my hybrid Disney's Animators' doll with the obitsu-body, is that these tiny ones are easy to have along, they are not so expensive, take a little place and it is easy to make/find props to them.

Polly is my smallest doll, if I do not consider my mini Lalaloopsy. She is fit to come along in my bag, in my pocket and are light to carry around. She poses easily with the obitsu-body (11 cm, 4.3") and is a cute piece of fun.

The cons are not so many (do you have any on mind?) - it is the clothing. I feel that it is harder to sew for this little girl, compared to the other dolls I have. It works and you get the best result when sewing by hand, even if it hurts my hands.

Well, this Bebe-Doll would be a fairy friend, with her own story, to my Mokashura Noomi.

Ah, dreaming is fun.

Of topic and a new dress…

Some days ago I was sitting in the kitchen and talked to our kids about their own thoughts for the coming summer, the last essays to be done and the future. Now they are watching the One Love Manchester on TV - a concert in tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing. It is to honor the lost, injured and affected. I think that it was cowardly done to attack our future like that. The youngster have not done a thing. But as a journalist wrote here - it is easier to build up buildings than a generation. The thing that scares me most, is that our girls could have been there on 22nd May. They have seen Ariana Grande before and have been even abroad to see their stars. It really hurst to see innocent people to become victims like this. We never know when, why or what - it is the new way to be in war. We are vulnerable, but we need to stay strong. Never let fear take over.

I know that this was of topic, but I had to share some thoughts.

On the evening when I sat in the kitchen, talking with the girls, I made a dress to Polly. The upper part is crocheted and the skirt I sew on, added some decorations and then the first try (too big) became a bow, that she has on her head. The pants she had, I have returned to the kids collection and the long sleeved t-shirt will be something new later on.

Here are some photos. Hope that you are well. Happy June.

Animators’ Merida

Autumn’s first month is here, but we can still taste the sweetness of the summer. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the wind is soft. The nights are rather chilly, so there is definitely a change going on.
Merida in her box. Took a photo of the box at our cottage.
During our trip to Denmark, we visited the Disney Store. I did not just buy a cute Funko Pop box, but even an Animators Mini Doll set. Could not resist! One of the walls had shelfs filled with Disney Animators’ in all kind of sizes and I did not know which one to pick. Had to make a quick decision when one of the workers came and said that they will close in 10 minutes.
