Jennie

Autumn is here. But still sunny and warm.

For some days ago we went for a road trip, on a sunny day. On our way home we stopped at a shopping centre. Wanted just to look around and so did my daughters. Bentley and husband waited in the car. Took a look at the toy store to see what they had and saw LOL Surprise OMG Music Festival Featuring Jennie. I did not buy her and regretted it almost directly.

Jennie.

I said to the family that it was sad that Jennie did not get into the car - referring to the song "Dracula" by Tame Impala ft Jennie where the lyrics go "Jennie, just get in the car". My youngest daughter had heard the song and got it and laughed, saying that we will fix it on another trip soon.

Her red hair really takes over, in a good way.

And yes, we did that just some days later.

Jennie is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter and actress. She was one of the members of the South Korean girl group called Blackpink, which debuted in late Summer 2016. She has even been a part of the Cheongdam Woori Animal Hospital's "Protect Our Family" campaign since 2018. The campaign helps to protect pets and rescue abandoned dogs. In person she is a shy, girlish and has a baby-like charm compared to her persona on stage. She works with fashion, collaborates with many different companies and has a full life. This doll shows her red hair era.

Close ups.

Her shoes and Jennie in the box. There is even a poster included. But no stand, sadly.

Details of the box. And her signature/autograph.

LOL dolls have had those specific eye shapes, more to the round ball like. Lashes painted on and a bit of flat face style. The flat face is still there but the eyes have a new shape with lashes that stick out. The hands have been the same, small fingers, delicate and with long nails. Lips are more pouty in this new version. I have read some reviews about her and it is divided. The collectors and parents think the doll is overpriced being 26,99 USD and kids just love her because of the details and cuteness.

Jennie in the sun, with a bug.

She is a typical LOL doll and it is fun to have her in my collection of dolls. That the real person Jennie had done a lot in her life and was so famous was something I did not know. I have heard some songs by Blackpink and Jennie herself, and that was it. I learned something new!

Thank you to Anita for her help during the photo shoot.
Here she is on her way home. Pay check will be delivered to her.

And by the way - no bugs were hurt during this photo shoot.
