Oh my!

I wonder....
It is said that you should trust that somethings happens for a reason. The last two weeks have been more of "oh my" than "hurray". We had a lovely stay at my mother-in-law and came home rested. Oldest daughter went to school and youngest daughter started her internship at the local flower store. I had plans for having fun with photography, dolls and painting. Well, nothing of this happened.

First we thought it was mosquito bites. Then that it was allergies. But then it was chicken pox. On a teenager. Surprise, surprise! Youngest daughter got the spots first and some days later the fever and other symptoms came. I phoned the nurse at the local health care centre and she was totally sure that it was chicken pox and said that we should keep her home at least for 7-10 days. There was nothing to do about this. And now our oldest daughter has it and are home, with spots and fever.
"Missne and Robin - a story about the woods"
This gave us some extra work to contact schools, theatre, church and let others know, so that they can be prepared. Chicken pox is highly a contagious disease, so it is best to inform about it. We were a bit nervous about our youngest daughter - she had rehearsals at the theatre and premiere on the weekend that week. But she recovered fine and could stand on stage doing her three roles together with the group she is in, in a fantasy story about this world and another world, how these meet. At school there has been two calm weeks with not so much to catch up on, so that is nice and both girls will be healthy for the trip to Poland in the beginning of May, with their confirmation group. So, we can breathe out.
Ghoulia Yelps, not in the best of lights and focus.
It was rather tough on us all. I got so tired and started to wonder if I was going to get sick too. Have not had chicken pox as a kid. I had just some moments to socialize with my dolls and the outer world. Took some photos of Ghoulia Yelps. Hope to do better this week. But, that is life. And we had good weather! Always something!
Spring has sprung in the city of Örebro, nearest big city.

  1. Oh my! I'm glad your daugthers are fine now!! And you didn't get chicken pox. I had it when I was little and my mom got it from me. I've been told is way worse to get it as an adult than as a kid.

Your daugther acts? that's so cool!! I love theatre.
I love your Ghoulia, did you do those clothes? they look really nice!

    1. Thanks, I am glad too that the girls are doing fine now. The oldest one need to be home some days more, just in case. But she is getting bored and are wondering when she can go back to school and her activities. Haha, never heard that before from a teenager. :D

Yes, chicken pox are really not fun to have as an adult. One can get hospitalized too, and with my diabetes I was a bit worried. So far, so good.

Yes, she acts. Have been a member at the theatre for about 5-6 years. She has been in many plays, short and long, and even joined the adults in one of their plays.

Thanks, and yes, I made her clothes. It was fun, but tricky, she is so small and tiny. :) And totally cute.

  2. I'm glad the worst of it seems to be over!

I remember when I was young, our moms used to take us over each other's homes to GET the chicken pocks. Now they say the virus can give you shingles. Le sigh~

    1. We are glad too. There was something called "chicken pox parties" when I was young. All kids home to the family where kids had chicken pox. But it never worked on me. And yes, do not look forward to anything concerning shingles. Have heard that it is painful. Yikes!

  3. Oh wow, wonderful your daughters are better now! Chicken pox isn't fun, I had it when I was kid, I have two siblings and of course all three of us had it at the same time. It's good that you didn't get it!

I've enjoyed your Instagram photos of dolls and surroundings where you are. Lovely spring flowers! ^^ And isn't it quite easy to post on Instagram? I like it becouse it is so easy and the level of the photography doesn't have to be superb (for me at least xD).

    1. It is a happy thing that we are all doing fine now. It was rough on us all, even if it was the worst for the girls. And now the oldest one are getting a bit bored of being home, hehe. But we thought that it is better to listen to the nurse and keep her home, so that she has the energy to travel next weekend.

Thanks! Instagram is a great place to be - I like it there. You can post at the moment or take photos and post later. It is like a little photo blog. It is a joy to share the things and happenings, and as you say - no need to be superb! :)
