Happy Easter!

I am sitting in my mother in law’s living room after our dinner. Yesterday’s sunshine and blue skies are far far away and the snow decided to make it winterly again. But that is typical for our parts here in the Scandinavium. But soon it will be May and all will change to sunshine and warm breeze.

Our trip to south Sweden went well. We have been at our cottage too, on a rainy day, but it was nice to just breathe. I had one of my dolls along, Animators’ Merida, the tiny one. I made her a long sleeved t-shirt out of leftover fabrics. I made this just so that I could take some photos of her by the Baltic Sea, nearby mother in law. She will get some newer and better clothes later on, the pants she has borrowed from one of my daughter’s Bratz dolls. They were perfect. I have thought that I should change her name to Polly, but I am not sure yet. She feels like a Polly.

I had some thoughts about her stiff body, so I ordered an Obitsy 11 from Kilala. Oh my, have I not waited. I had plans to order it for her earlier, but with my luck I had to wait, because the site was closed for maintenance. For a week. I felt like a stalker, up-dating the site so often I could. Yes, I know, they would announce the new opening on Facebook - but you never know. And the day they opened, it felt like a Christmas Eve. I was on a mission, making an order. She - well, the body arrived to the door and I was so happy. And I do not mind that the body has a lighter color compared to the head. I was mostly after the range of posing abilities. Mission completed.

Have a Happy Easter and great weekend!

  1. Happy Easter to you too! It's Easter Sunday here today.

The tiny Merida is so cute. I've had really good things about that Obistu body. I hope it works well for your girl.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your time away. I've never been to Sweden. It looks like a lovely place though form the photos I have seen online.

    1. Thank you so much!

I have heard good things about the Obitsu body too and I am glad that I ordered one. It works very well with the tiny Merida head. I was a bit nervous about the size, so tiny and does the joints work properly. But it does.

It feels good to be away for a while, if only just for some days. Sweden is a very long country, so the nature and weather can be very different from place to place. Here, in south, it is very green and the ocean gives a touch of fresh air. Up north it is lots of bigger rocks, high and lows, pine trees and smaller lakes. Much to see! Hope to post more photos on Flickr soon.

    1. Thanks! I was a bit uncertain about head and body and the mixture, so I did some googling with rather few 'I feel lucky'. But it works.

The scenery in south Sweden is just wonderful - no matter what kind of weather it is! Look forward to summer and hopefully some new places to see and use as background for doll photos. :)

  3. Hi Niina!
Oh what a little sweetie she turned out to be on her new body. :) I agree with the name change, Polly suits her, now all she needs is a kettle to put on the stove. Ha ha!
    Hugs,

  5. Happy Easter, Dear!
I love the Animator's Doll Merida so much! I like the name "Polly" too. Seems like it could fit her well.
I have never considered that it would be possible to make a hybrid like that, but it's a clever idea ;)

    1. Thank you so very much <3 and I hope you had a wonderful Easter.

Merida is my favorite among the Animators. I like Pocahontas too...

I took some measures and did some calculations - came to the decision that it would work. The color could be a bit darker on the body, but otherwise it's working.
