Simple box opening: Resinsoul Fei

Well, I took a plunge. Lately I have visited a site, similar to eBay, but a Swedish one. Put BJD in the search line, just in case and got a hit. There was a woman who had several BJD's for sale and one of these were a Resinsoul Fei. I started with visiting ResinSouls site, compared and calculated. She had even other ResinSoul dolls, but this Fei one just caught my eye. It was a doll she had for a time, but kept well in a box and in a drawer, protected from light. There were no bidding and excitement, just a 'buy now'-button. So I did that and made a payment to her and in just a couple of days from that a package arrived.

I have had her for a couple of weeks now and I am so pleased with her. She is really cute and I like the size she is. The clothes I have for my Narshas fit her well, so that is a big plus. She needs some re-stringing, as the seller even pointed out, but that is something I can do later on. She still stands well and the arms are ok to pose.

She came in a well packaged box and with information, so that the post office would handle it carefully.

Cute stickers, a wig, the doll, a magic sponge and her dress, nicely packed.

Free, out of the box and all foamy-things.

Her neck and the cute ears.

She came with a wig (very looooong) and a handmade dress.
I may fix the dress, because it felt a bit large on her.

She does not have any eyes, need to do something about that.
But as she has almost closed eyes, she do not look too creepy without eyes.

Her eye lashes were too long for my taste, so I fixed some new ones and gave her some blush too.

Borrowing Esther's clothes. Suits well.

Who's hiding behind her cute ears?

Made some jewelry while listening to an audio book.

Made a pair of shoes for her with the help from a tutorial by Lomi's Playground.

I had Fimo Clay as soles, but it was a bit dry. Should have used some liquid Fimo to soften it up.
But otherwise these shoes work perfect and suit her feet well.

And for the first time ever, I do not have a name for her. It is really mind blowing because I always have a name ready before the doll arrives. So, now I will start a hunt for a name. Wish me good luck!

  1. Big congrats. She is lovely. And she does look like she has been well looked after. She is a nice face sculpt, I think she is meant to be the sleeping face for Mei. The sculpts look the same. The shoes look great!

What colour eyes were you thinking of? Maybe I can send you some. I have such a huge eye stash and I don't need all of them. From memory these dolls take 14mm?

    1. Thank you so much, I am very happy with her! I agree, she is in a very good condition and the sculpt is just lovely. There is something special with elf ears. :) I saw somewhere, while searching, that she is as you wrote a sleeping version of Mei.

Yes, she takes 14 mm and I have been looking at the same place where I bought the doll, but they just have 8 mm or 20 mm…or for teddy bears. If you can spare a pair I would be so, so happy. <3 I had yellow-brown-ish och blue in mind.

  2. Congratulations Niina, she's a lovely little elf. The resin looks really smooth and in good condition. I like the little shoes you made for her, animal prints are really en trend right now. :)
    Big hugs,

    1. Thank you so much! And yes, animal prints and colors from the 70’s and 80’s are in trend now, here too. The teenagers look like I did when I was younger. It is a bit fun to see. These shoes I made with fabric from my youngest daughter’s jeans. She’s happy to help me and gives me her old outgrown clothes. It is like having a living stash. :)
      Hugs!

    1. Aah, thank you so much! She really is cute and I am very happy with the shoes…Had some tries before. She has smaller feet, so I had to figure out a pattern. But finally and I better save it for the future too. Now I am testing out some boot patterns for her. Not going so well at the moment, but shame on me if I give up! :D

  4. Congratulations, she's very sweet looking with her pointy ears. It's always great when you see a doll and don't have a long wait for it to arrive...almost instant gratification, which doesn't happen very often in our BJD hobby!
The shoes are great too, I never think to use fimo for the soles, but that makes a lot of sense.
    :) xx

    1. Thank you so much, Sharon! I do like those pointy ears! It felt really nice to get the doll home so fast. She posted it the same day I had payed, so that is service. :) And then she lives not so far away, but far enough that it is easier to mail the parcel.
I have tried to make shoes with Fimo clay soles before and it really works. And you can make them thick too. If you want to. Thin soles are better done with fabric or something leather like. :)
      Hugs!
