Bye, bye!

Well, it is not as dramatic as it sounds. I have been doing some cleaning in my boxes and on my shelfs - sending some dolls and figures to new loving homes. Have done this while preparing for Christmas and because my eyes caught a cute ball jointed doll, a boy. I am half way already...or all the way, depending. If I just buy the doll, I am there - but I want some clothes for him and some shoes too.

Maeve
Bonnie
Two Barbies have left the building - Maeve and Bonnie. I know that I searched for these and put a lot of effort to get them. But having them for some years and not taking so much time to bond with these girls, made me decide to let them go. The new owners are happy. So, bye bye Maeve and Bonnie.

We got some beautiful winter days during first Advent. Snow, blue skies and even some degrees below zero. Our landlord has decorated the area where we live with some trees and lights. Brightens up the darker afternoons and evenings. And the little hill is just all fun for kids and dogs to slide on. Some days later the snow rained away and it is all green again. So, bye bye snow.

For some days ago we took our dog Bentley to the vet, for a check up. All is fine and he is getting closer to 8 months now. He is learning new things almost daily, but he is still a pup and sometimes he just can not keep himself together when he meets people and other dogs. He has some great dog friends in a labrador, a younger golden retriever and a springer spaniel. If they could, the would play forever and ever. We have had some meetings at the dog park and it has been a blast.

For fun
When it comes to my arm, the broken humerus, I am healing slowly. Do not use a sling so much at the moment and in 10 days I will meet a doctor for x-ray and planning for the next step. Last meeting in November went well and some new callus have appeared. Doctor was happy, but wanted me to know that the huge spiral fracture will take time to heal. Like two months more...yay. So no bye bye orthosis yet. Even if this conservative healing (no surgery) takes time and can be rather painful, I am doing well and are keeping my chin up.

  1. Hi! Glad to see you're blogging again.

I also have a Maeve (mine is called Brooke), but I haven't connected with her either and I find her super hard to photograph. I'm glad you found new homes for those ladies. The snow landscape looks beautiful, like a Christmas card! Here it never snows, but I'd love if we could have a white Christmas one year.

I'm glad you're recovering well from your injury. Take care and I hope you get better soon.

    1. Hello and glad to be blogging again. :)

I agree, it was really hard to take photos of Maeve, with her stiff body in mind. It would have been easier with a made to move body, but those dolls have not reached my corners yet. I am happy that she and Bonnie got new homes.

It can be really beautiful with the snow over here. Sadly it rains at the moment. Yesterday we had a storm raging here.

It is going forward with my injury, I am glad about that. It has been a tough journey. Hope to never experience it again.

      Take care!

  2. It's nice to see you posting despite the broken arm, but I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend.
I know what it's like to get rid of dolls, having sent loads away earlier this year, but it's nice to be able to order a new boy...a sweet looking boy I have to say.
Young Bentley is growing into such a handsome fellow, it's great that he has had some playdates and enjoys the company of his other doggy friends :)
Keep warm! And have a good weekend!
    Hugs Sharon in Spain xx

    1. You can come a long way with patience and one working hand/arm. Soon I will be able to use both hands, I hope and write with more ease. Next appointment at the doctors will probably give me more freedom to use the arm. Last time the doctor said that I do not need the sling. Have some serious problems letting that sling go, haha!

Bonnie was extra hard, because I have an extra place for Beatrix Potter and this was a celebration for her work. But I have enjoyed her for almost three years and now it is time for someone else to meet her and enjoy her. And selling some dolls gives an opening to other dolls.

Yes, thanks! Bentley has certainly become a big, strong and handsome fellow. :) And we have seen a protective side too. He wants to know that we are okay if danger is heading our way - like a cat, the neighbor or a car driving by on the street. At times it can be funny.

      Enjoy your weekend and hugs!

  3. Oh that's so good to read you are well on your way to healing Niina.

When I read the first two paragraphs with Bye Bye, I had an awful feeling seeing Bentley in the next para, I was so thankful it wasn't another Bye Bye, that would have definitely dampened the mood. I'm so pleased he has friends to play with, it is so important for dogs (well to anyone really). My own doggy loves playing in the park with his friends, sniffing here and there, with a few cocks of the leg along the way. My daughter says dogs love checking "Weemails". LOL!

I do hope you make enough money from your sales to purchase your new boy and clothe him, we can't have him running around naked in your cold winter snow now, can we?
Have a wonderful week, big hugs,
    X

    1. Hello and sorry for the little scare there. Saying bye bye to some dolls and snow are just enough for one post. Let us just say hello to Bentley and hello to progress in healing - even if I at times want to say bye bye to the orthosis I have.

Bentley and his friends recognize each other from far and start to play (jump and ’talk’) before they even are nose to nose. He is the same when he meets some neighbors who like to greet him. As you wrote, it is important with friends and playtime. And of course checking those ”Weemails”, LOL!

I am hopeful to collect enough money for this doll. And some clothes, because it is too cold and snowy here at the moment. It would be a sight to see him running around naked in this weather, haha! :D Have been looking for some clothes and put them on my wish list and when it mistime, pick the favorites!

      Enjoy the new week! Hugs!

  4. Oh I can see why you want that boy. He is quite adorable. He will fit in so nicely with the rest of your crew! Bentley is looking so grown up now. Can't believe he is only 8 months! And energetic by the sounds of it!

I'm sorry you've been in some pain with your arm. Are you taking anything for it? Wow, another two months to fully heal. You've done so well so far.

    1. He is adorable, isn’t he! I have been browsing the doll-sites in search of a boy. Had a list and he was not at all on this list, so it felt a bit strange to end up deciding that he is the one! But so right!

Bentley is a big boy! Very energetic, especially when he meets people and other dogs he likes to be around. But after a while he gets tired playing around. Sleeps a couple of hours then. Still a pup.

I am only allowed to take mild painkillers. Got some morphine the day I was at the emergency. The X-rays are bad and there is a huge spiral fracture that will take time to heal. The other smaller fractures have healed, so I am glad about that. A surgery would made me heal faster, but they want in the most cases to heal without. Hope for some progress until the next appointment. It has gone so well so far.

  5. I hope your arm will heal well.

Bentley is gorgeous! He is in that funny stage - not a little puppy anymore but not the adult yet. :) Anyway, he's so sweet!

    1. I hope so too, it is taking time.

Thank you so much! He is in a funny stage, learning new things, growing up and still being a puppy. He gives us joy.

  6. Haha, a good scare in December far away from Halloween! :D

I am on my good way to get this urge to purge reality. My hubby thought so too, a boy would be nice in my crew. Good thing to save and I can understand that your daughter likes bjds! Who would not!

I can start to take the orthosis off from time to time and start to move my shoulder! Yay! On my way, but need to take it easy though!

    Happy Holidays!

  7. Oh wow, a boy doll! :D Good luck with him, sometimes it needs funds from other stuff that needs to be sold. :) I've done that too and it has been worth it. Good luck! What sort of style are you looking for him? I really like those clothes he has there in those photos. It's much easier to buy some clothes for new doll same time with the doll. :)

Glad to hear your arm's going better now.

AND OMG how cute your Bentley is! >w< He is such a cutie doggy, super happy to see his photos.

    1. Yes, oh wow! :D Suddenly it happens! Have been wondering for a long time, and it felt right with this boy and not being a limited one, I had time to sell some figurines and two of my Barbies and some of the L.O.L dolls i had. Came a long way with that. I have ordered him a suit (!) and sneakers. A proper boy with some casual touch. And the glasses! I just loved him with the glasses!

I will start rehab and physiotherapy in a week. Have been without my orthosis short times during this time, since the last visit at the doctor. Feels ok, but it is a bit scary.

Bentley is the cutest, isn't he! He is such a fluffy boy, just wanting to be near. Need to share more photos. :)
